Mr. Jim Lozon, a Professional Engineer, is a candidate for the PhD degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Project Management (completion anticipated Spring 2008) at the University of Calgary. Mr. Lozon has an MASc in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in corporate policy and strategy. He has 38 years industry experience in the energy, technology and manufacturing sectors in project management, engineering management, productivity improvements, supervision and training of technical staff, cost control and efficiency systems and business management in startup and turnaround operations. He has successfully conducted systems studies to achieve improved cost control and efficiency in the energy and manufacturing sectors.

His direct experience with all levels of management combined with outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills have produced a record of success in all endeavours, in both union and non-union environments. He has utilized strong analytical and problem solving abilities in managing large projects, implementing cost effective solutions and making presentations to executive management. Mr. Lozon regularly lectures at the University of Calgary and at Mount Royal College in subjects related to project management, ethics, engineering management, construction management, and procurement and logistics.
