APEGGA Science Olympics –
Calgary Work Group is Now
Recruiting
The APEGGA science olympics Work Group is looking for new
members to help plan the science olympics in Calgary. Science olympics is an
interactive science competition and an interschool event. Students are given
a series of applications or problem-solving challenges that demonstrate the fun
side of exploring science concepts targeted for Grades 1 through 12.
APEGGA hosts the science olympics as an activity to
celebrate National Engineering & Geoscience
Week. By bringing attention to its professions through a variety of programs
and activities, we hope to encourage and nurture an interest in engineering,
science, math and technology in students and the general public.
The work group meets once per month excluding July, August, and December.
The meetings are generally two hours long and are at the APEGGA office. The science
olympics will be held on February 23, 2007.
