When was the last time that your ideas were implemented or that your opinion truly counted? Do you feel you are contributing to your full potential? What kind of difference are you capable of making?  One of the keys to creating a successful and fulfilling career is to develop and exert personal influence. So how does one go about doing that?

Seminar Content:
This seminar provides a framework that translates the concept of influence into something that is manageable and actionable by anyone, irrespective of education, experience or role.

Participants will be exposed to the concept that influence has a currency that can be earned, grown and when appropriate, spent. A number of different mechanisms for accumulating this currency will be explored and participants will be given the opportunity to identify the ones that are most relevant to them.

Common pitfalls that can drain this currency will also be shared with the audience and strategies proposed to help offset or overcome these traps.

This activity is followed with a self assessment of current influence level and opportunities for areas of personal development will be highlighted.

By the end of the seminar, all participants will have had the opportunity to develop a personal action plan that will help them to grow their influence in their workplace.

Pre-Registration and advance payments are required.  Seating is limited and registrations will be dealt with on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please call the Calgary APEGGA office at 262-7714 to register before Friday, September 21, 2007.  Calgary Branch accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

The supply of remote power is a very specialized area within the power generation sector, yet, by association it is also subject to the same pressures to be “green” as conventional power.  Being green is good, but it isn’t as easy as many people think, and it comes at a cost.

This presentation will paint a picture of the very unique requirements for remote power applications, particularly in the oil and gas sector and the telecommunications sector, including the extremely challenging locations, elevations, harsh climates and reliability requirements.   Then it will show how companies have tried to go green in these applications with varying degrees of success.

Finally, the presentation will introduce some innovative things Global has done to increase the likelihood of success with greener installations, but without sacrificing performance or reliability.  Examples are hybrid systems and cycle chargers, which utilize proven technologies in new ways.   Finally, it will introduce some practical concepts that incorporate new technologies without sacrificing reliability.

Seating is limited and registrations will be dealt with on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please call the Calgary APEGGA office at 262-7714 to register before Friday, September 28, 2007. Calgary Branch accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
