Tour of the Anthony Henday
Water Treatment Plant

Date:   Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Where:   Anthony Henday Water Treatment Plant, 5 minutes West of Innisfail

Times:  Start 17:30, 1 hour duration

Cost:  No Charge

In partnership with the Mountain View Regional Water Services Commission, the Anthony Henday Water Treatment Plant supplies water to some 28,000 residents along the south corridor from Innisfail to Crossfields.  Following the tour of the water plant there will be a Q&A session.

To participate in the tour, you will need to bring the following personal protective equipment:

  • Safety toed shoes

The Central Alberta APEGGA branch will provide coffee and refreshments for the Q&A session.

Technical tour – Energy-efficient ‘dome home’

Date: Saturday, December 1, 2007

Time: 2 pm

Details: Tour of the 55 foot reinforced concrete monolithic dome home of Mike Forsythe and Lynn Cain that has been featured on CBC and in newspapers. The house has passive solar heating, a wind generator and solar panels to supply all electrical requirements. A satellite system is used for their internet / phone system. Caleb Schmidt from Sunfind and Rob Phillips from Canadian Dome will be on hand to help Mike and Lynn field any technical questions.
APEGGA members are welcome.

Location: Approximately 5 Km west of the Novacor plant Directions: On 30th Ave. turn east on to Hwy 11. Go 14.5 Km ( watch for ASET sign ) Turn left ( north ) on to Range Road 26-1 and follow for 2.6 km. Watch for ASET sign and turn left ( west ) and go 4.5 Km . Turn right (east) to the house. (Contact Dave to car pool or for more information).
