other events. In north Edmonton, a group of engineers in the Consulting Engineers
Challenge completely upgraded a playground at the KARA Family Resource Centre.
APEGGA staff members in Edmonton and Calgary held their own United Way fundraiser,
bringing in about $8,000 — and earning special recognition. The United
Way in Edmonton named Gary Reavie, CMA, APEGGA Manager, Administration, the Employee
Campaign Chair of the Year for the
private sector. There were 16 other nominees in the category.
The United Way is an umbrella fundraising campaign for a range of charities
and also a community builder. It strives to leverage donations, and identify
and address specific community needs.
