ASTech Nominations Deadline Approaches
Nominations for the 17th annual Alberta Science and Technology are now open.
The non-profit foundation identifies and celebrates outstanding science and technology
accomplishments every year through the ASTech Awards. This year six awards and
five prizes will be handed out.
Categories for awards are outstanding leadership in Alberta science, outstanding leadership in Alberta technology, outstanding achievement in applied technology and innovation, outstanding commercial achievement in Alberta science and technology, leaders of tomorrow, and outstanding contribution to the Alberta science and technology community.
Prizes include the ASTech Industrial Research Prize, Syncrude/ASTech Innovation
in Oil Sands Research, AVAC/Dow Agrosciences/ASTech Innovation in Agricultrual
Sciences, Excellence in Science and Technology Journalism, and Excellence in
Science and Technology Public Awareness.
ASTech will present a total of $85,000 to the recipients at the annual gala in
November. Deadline for nominations is May 31.
