Clockwise from above: Derek Doyle, P.Eng., Executive Director & Registrar of APEGBC, makes a point during one of the sessions; the Wyoming delegation ponders proceedings behind a sign that’s made the rounds — as evidenced by signatures from meetings in Banff, Sante Fe, Anchorage and elsewhere; and the Hon. Hector Goudreau, Alberta Minister of Employment and Immigration, brings greetings from the Alberta Government.

MOBILIZED MEETING
Americans involved in the U.S. system of engineering licensure got a taste of Canadian hospitality, May 28 to 30, when they brought their meeting to Banff. The Western Zone Interim Meeting of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying attracted more than 130 delegates and guests. The meeting marked the first of its kind on Canadian soil by the NCEES, reflecting a high level of trust that’s developing between Canadian associations and state regulating boards. For about a decade, APEGGA has been at the forefront of a push for greater professional mobility between Canada and the U.S.
The NCEES is an American non-profit organization made up of the licensing boards from the American states and territories. APEGGA hosted the meeting jointly with the Idaho Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. |
